While researching other DoOO websites I came across the BYU Domains site. The site featured two interesting videos regarding domains.
The first video is a TedX Talk by Jim Groom that explains the idea behind Domain of One’s Own (DoOO) and what the purpose of the project is. He maintains that all DoOO projects, even small ones, have the potential to evolve into something – whether it be a creative outlet or a way to share and learn new information.
The second video talks about how DoOO can be used in academics. Giving students the ability to talk and share information they find interesting in a space completely in their control is a unique opportunity that not all student have or take advantage of.
